Does asteroids surround earth, or between mars and earth or is it both?

There are some debris clouds around earth's orbits, but not with asteroids, but smaller meteoroids. The main location of asteroids in our solar system is between mars and jupiter. The only reason it is there, and not between earth and mars, is because technically, there should be a planet there, but it may have been obliterated, and smashed into smaller planetoids, or asteroids.
