I have a guinea pig and hes very skid dish around me and always wants down when i hold him?

is there anyway to get him to warm up to me? he'll sit on my lap as long as i sit there but when i stand up he doesn't want to be in my arms. also he doesn't like to drink from a water bottle he used to drink from it like crazy but lately he wants nothing to do with it how do i get him to drink from it again?
