My pet Tegu is rubbing his nose raw on his gl container! HELP?

He is a baby gold and black Argentina Tegu... i just bought him and put him in his temporary new home which, I admit, is pretty small (about 2 ft long, 1 ft wide and 1 ft tall) he has a big water bowl and i just fed him a diced strawberry (which hes not even eating). And he has been rubbing his nose on the sides of the cage trying to escape or something and his nose is getting scarlet red and im pretty sure its guna start bleeding soon. can anyone help me? Im a major nooby at this and need alot of advice please!
