Ps3 overtakes wireless connection! 10 points and more!?

whenever i play online the ps3 not only turns off my local connection so no one else can use it but also it shows some sort of playstation hub is available to join by my laptop. I wanna change the settings so others can use the internet. i never had this problem with my old ps3. please help! I cant even download game updates!
